In 2018, the OFA Minnesota Environmental Group partnered with the Izaak  Walton League, Land Stewardship, and the Nature Conservancy to craft conservation policy that was included into the 2018 U.S. Agricultural Improvement Act (Farm Bill). The bill was passed into law on December 20, 2018.
typical 350- and 100-acre farms.  We worked with like-minded organizations such as The Izaak Walton League, Land Stewardship Project, Minnesota DFL and the Nature Conservancy to create a policy recommendation.  We then took the proposal to key U.S. lawmakers from Minnesota: Sen. Amy Klobuchar, Rep. Tim Walz, Rep Rick Nolan and Rep. Colin Peterson. The policy recommendation ended up as a small but important part of the new Farm Bill (Sec 11109. Expansion of Performance-Based Discount) (Aditya Ranade).
